The Purusha Sukta is the most highly regarded and most commonly used Vedic Sanskrit hymn (to the Supreme Being) and contains guidance on meditation, knowledge, devotion, rituals and duties. The mere recitation of it is said to produce profound spiritual effects. It is recited in almost all Vedic rituals and ceremonies from birth to death. It is as extensively used today as much as thousands of years ago.

Sri Purusha Sukta 3D Yantra which is the visual form of the Purusha Sooktha Mantra, is to beget a worthy child : Putra-Labh. It is also effectively used for the purpose of getting rid of the complications during pregnancy or for removing the obstacles in progeny or parenthood. This Sevan Wood 3D Yantra minimizes the chances of miscarriage and abortion during pregnancy. It infuses divine energy into the immediate atmosphere to cleanse it of unwanted, corrupt energy which could damage the unborn child. Purusha Sukta Yantra is also for those expecting mothers, for birthing healthy and intelligent chidren.

The Purusha Sukta 3D Yantra with Open Lotus Petals (is also known as Paurusha Sukta Yantra) is dedicated to Lord Mahavishnu – since this 3D Yantra is made of the rare and sacred Shriparni Tree Wood (in which Goddess Sri Maha Lakshmi resides naturally as Swayambu), it becomes doubly auspicious : Lakshmiji is the Divine Consort of Lord Vishnu. None other than Lord Maha Vishnu himself bestowed this knowledge on Sanatkumara, who in turn instructed this to sage Bodhayana.

The Purusha Sookta 3D Yantra made of the Sacred Sevan Tree Wood is the full manifestation of the Santhana Gopala Moola Mantra and is considered and recommended by the Veda Pandits, Vedic Astrologers for all those who are desiring to have children but have obstacles in conceiving. Legend

The Purusha Sukta is considered to be the quintessential hymn of the Vedas. It is found in all the four Vedas with slight variations. The Mudgala Upanishad gives a nice summary of this hymn. It is said that if one does not have the facility to study the entire Veda then one should study only the Purusha Sukta and one would thus obtain the benefit of studying all the 4 Vedas.

The Vedas see several universes in existence. In the Purusha Suktam, these are outlined, and their inter-relationships explained. The term used for all these ‘entities’ (several universes) is Purusha. This word is made up of two root words. Puru – the whole world, the people, the town, or anything whole in itself. Ishaha – The Lord of all people. The word Purusha therefore means – the Lord or Controller of All That Is.

The Purusha in the title of the Purusha Suktam refers to the Parama Purusha, the Purushottama, and the Narayana, in his form as the Viraath Purusha. He was the source of all creation. It describes this form of His, as having countless heads, eyes, manifested everywhere, beyond any comprehension. All creation is but a fourth part of Him. The rest is un-manifested. In a way, this is a message of love, that the Purusha would consume himself (like mother) in the fire of creation, to create all the worlds. From this sacrifice, all of the creation emanates. This is central to the message of the Purusha Sukta.

The Purusha Sukta is an integral part of the Rig-veda (10.7.90.1-16). It also appears in the Taittiriya Aranyaka (3.12,13), the Vajasaneyi Samhita (31.1-6), the Sama-veda Samhita (6.4), and the Atharva-veda Samhita (19.6). An explanation of parts of it can also be found in the Shatapatha Brahman, the Taittiriya Brahmana, and the Shvetashvatara Upanishad. The Mudgalopanishad gives a nice summary of the entire Purusha Sukta. The contents of the Sukta have also been reflected and elaborated in the Bhagavata Purana (2.5.35 to 2.6.1-29) and in the Mahabharata (Mokshadharma Parva 351 and 352).

The Purusha Suktam is one of the Pancha Suktams of the Sri Vaishnava sampradaya or tradition. The other four are the Narayana Suktam, Sri Suktam, Bhu Suktam, and the Nila Suktam.

The Purusha Suktam is seen earliest in the Rg Veda, as the 90th Suktam of its 10th mandalam, with 16 mantrams. Later, it is seen in the Vajasaneyi Samhita of the Shukla Yajur Vedam, the Taittriya Aranyaka of the Krishna Yajur Vedam, the Sama Veda, and the Atharvana Veda, with some modifications and redactions.

Since the Purusha Suktam is seen in all Vedas, it is cited as the essence of all Srutis by Veda Vyasa in the Mahabharata. Saunaka, Apastamba, and Bodhayana have also written concerning the use of the Purusha Suktam.

Among the great Gods of Vedas is Purusha, which in simple translation means the “male”. But the word actually indicates Lord Vishnu, who is the God among the great trinity in charge of the care of the created beings. He is supposed to live in the ocean of milk and his consort is Lakshmi the goddess of wealth and prosperity. Possibly along with Rudra it is one of the greatest stotras originating from the Vedas. Though the original Purusha Suktha Mantra occurs in Rig Veda, it also occurs in Vajaneya Samhitha of Shukla Yajur Veda, Taiteeriya Samhitha of Krishna Yajurveda and also with slight differences in Sama Veda as well as Atharva Veda. Many great sages have given details of how this great Sutra should be used in Fire Sacrifices and many sages including the great Sayanacharya have written commentaries on Purusha Suktham.

The Purusha Sukta gives us the essence of the philosophy of Vedanta, the Vedic tradition, as well as the Bhagavad Gita and Bhagavata Purana. It incorporates the principles of meditation (upasana), knowledge (jnana), devotion (bhakti), and rituals and duties (dharma and karma). This is why it is highly regarded and extensively used today as much as thousands of years ago.
